A Close Community
What makes us special?
Many parents say we have a unique community at our school. What makes us special?
We see each other.
Parents come into the school each day to personally drop off and pick up children. That means you can see and speak with your child’s teacher, classmates, the director and other parents on a daily basis. And children work with and play with children of all ages, in all classrooms.

We are a small community.
While the school has steadily grown, we remain a community of about 120 students, allowing families to know or at least recognize nearly all the other students.

We walk… in a real neighborhood.
Little Italy is one of Cleveland’s premier historic neighborhoods, still on a "human scale" with homes, a playground, recreation center, bakeries, shops, restaurants, and galleries all in walking distance. Our students feel comfortable walking here. Parents often give older children permission to walk on their own – while younger ones are accompanied by parents or teachers on class trips. We walk to our gym classes at the Alta House, on excursions to Lakeview Cemetery, visits to Abington Arms senior center – and even venture beyond … to Severance Hall, the Natural History Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cozad-Bates underground railroad house, the Botanical Garden and other sites in University Circle.

We are part of a parish community.
We are not a diocesan parish school – but we enjoy close ties with Holy Rosary parish and share in their weekday masses and social service projects. Our students are a part of community life – helping elderly neighbors, getting to know local shop owners and others in Little Italy.
