She pursued her Montessori education and is credentialed through AMS (American Montessori Society) at both the Primary and Elementary levels. Kate also continued her education in the path of religious formation through the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and is in process of becoming a National Formation Leader.

Kate’s first post-graduate job was at Ruffing Montessori in Cleveland Heights as assistant in a Primary Classroom for 3 years. Kate has been involved in Montessori ever since! She and her mother began their own Montessori School which she owned and worked at for 9 years.

Kate has been at Holy Rosary since 2003, with her first 3 years as an assistant. Currently, she is the office manager and coordinator of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. After school, you’ll find her with some of the elementary children since she is the coordinator of the Montessori School Drama Club!

Kate’s favorite past-times are spending time with her amazing sons, Jerome and Evan, reading, acting, singing and organizing! She is involved in the Geauga theater both on stage and behind the scenes.

Katie Bodnovich, Reading Tutor

Katie is a native Ohioan and graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in English.  After a year in Texas doing volunteer work, Katie moved back to Cleveland and worked in newspaper advertising.  Returning to West Texas, she decided it was finally time to listen to her "gut feeling" about wanting to teach.  She discovered Montessori in her first teaching job at St. Mary’s Central Catholic School in Odessa, TX where she taught kindergarten while working towards Montessori certification at the Southwest Montessori Training Center.  Receiving her certification in 2003, she returned to Cleveland and began working at the Montessori School at Holy Rosary.  Always eager to share her love of language and reading, in 2008 Katie completed an intensive certification program in the Orton-Gillingham method of reading tutoring.  She now serves as the full-time, in-house reading tutor.

Dawn Britsky, Support Staff & Yoga Instructor

Dawn’s journey in self-awareness began at Lake Erie College, were she earned a Bachelors of Arts in Healing Movement in 2004.  The path of yoga opened up and she earned certification of 200 hours in 2004, which led to yoga therapy with 500 hours in 2005 and training in kids and senior yoga. Dawn’s young son and a desire to be helpful, guided her to the Montessori School at Holy Rosary. Dawn is a classroom sub, works in the office, covers breaks, takes children on outings, works in before-care and teaches yoga classes for the school. "The children and staff have taught me that we are life-long learners, always practicing. May you find peace in all you do -- and don’t forget to breathe."
